Paths are the backbone of any garden, but in Oslo they must do more than look good. They need to survive freeze-thaw cycles, accommodate snow ploughs and shovels, and drain properly during spring melt. Our path and edge design service addresses all of these requirements.

Main routes require 90–120 cm width for comfortable shovelling and plough access. Secondary paths can be narrower but must still allow passage when snow accumulates.
Steel and granite edging outperform timber and plastic in Oslo's climate. We specify materials rated for repeated freeze-thaw without heaving or cracking.
Gravel and open-joint paving reduce ice formation and allow spring melt to drain rather than pool. We avoid impermeable surfaces that create slippery patches.
Path edges define planting bed boundaries. Our designs coordinate path curves with bed shapes for a cohesive, editorial garden layout.
